Battery technology continues to advance and the R/C enthusiast is better off for it. Lithium polymer batteries continue to grow in popularity. More correctly they are lithium-ion polymer batteries, popularly abbreviated as ‘LiPo’. Using highly conductive gel polymers they provide more power with less weight. Increased capacity and power delivery. Special chargers and charging rules apply with these power sources. Many large R/C vehicles incorporate 4S 14.8V LiPo batteries with upgrades available for increased performance.
